At least twice. You see the price on quality rebuilds or aftermarket vents? The tool is a worthwhile investment. If you tire on rebuilding someone here will snatch that tool up in a minute.

I did mine by myself and they came out great. I ended up making a holding jig using the edge of my jack stand to go on the inside lip of the window and hold the rivet up from the bottom. Then just used the punch tool that came with my window rubbers and a mallet and mushroomed them down. Oh wait.....I did have my wife there. She brought me the beer. But as mentioned before about those helping hands costing you. LOL

I am using one of these, I found one on ebay for 60 bucks and I have seen them for sale as low as 40.00, just buy the proper dies and your set!

That tool is just a way over priced 2'' c-clamp! If you or someone you know has access to a welder and a lathe you can make something really nice to do this work and it's really easy to make the tools. I bought one even having the welders and lathes but it was a deal for the 60 bux....I wouldn't buy that tool above because its just a c-clamp and two hardend bolts that have been turned down to set rivets ohhh they also include the golden allen wrench as well wallllaaaa...I can turn some hardened allen bolts down for the 100.00 all day and send them to whoever wants them and I'll include the golden allen wrench as well for free! that tool should be more like a 30.00 at the most!

Good tools cost money in my opinion, yeah its pricey but has 2 in one and if its used regularly then money isnt wasted. But hey im sure the one you have is just as good and may look at one of those as well

I just don't like people being taken advantage of the tool you listed is this,

Not even a good c-clamp as good c-clamps are forged and the metal is super ductile meaning it will not break, the tool you listed is pot metal which is junk. The only hardened part of that tool is grade 8 allen bolts that have been turned down to set rivets and those two bolts can be had for less than 30 cents and the allen wrench can be had for less than 60 cents. And the poured pot metal is nothing, thats why I said it's more like a 30 dollar tool. If that were forged 4140 on the frame and it had those bolts that were turned down to set rivets I'de go maybe 50.00 but even at that its still not something that is a real money maker having that tool not unless were talking about building multiple sets of vents. I'm a machinist of 13 yrs and wouldn't want someone getting taken. The tool I have listed is used in the air craft industry and is well known by air craft mechanics...I'm not knocking your thoughts on the tool but it is cheaply made and not worth the 100 plus it sells for. If in the hobby why not buy something that will last and spare parts are avaibial like the tatco, I cound't see wearing out a grade 8 allen bolt building one set but over time if one does get bent or damaged where do you buy the new parts to replace the broken pieces? not unless you have a lathe or someone to turn the stuff down then you or whoever would be sol and this is what I'm trying to keep others from the heartache of. These tools have been around since the day of oooo and the auto glass market place is trying to rob people who don't know the areospace industry has been setting rivets since the day of oooo. I learned of this tool including the roper whitney punch I have though a friend that is an air craft mechanic. Please look into other options before wasting money on something that is less than a good c-clamp with the threaded part turned down to set rivets. I wouldn't want to see a person spend a 100 bux on something that is inferior and doesn't have replacement parts.

That's what I used on mine except for the rivet the window swings on.
