Hotchkis TVS for Suburban?

As I plan to lower my Sub sometime in the next year I have come across all the glowing reports about how well the Hotchkis TVS system improves overall handling while achieving the static drop I am looking for.

As it is designed for the trucks, it SHOULD bolt up to a Suburban, but I imagine the extra weight over the rear axle would be a little less than ideal for the spring rates and possibly the thickness of the rear sway-bar.

Has anyone been down this road? Any input?

I know the kit is quite costly and I may just go with an ECE setup or possibly CPP, but I want to flesh out the potential of using the Hotchkis stuff before making my final decision.

Hey 65imp, first off welcome to the site! Thanks for considering our TVS kit. You are right about the kit bolting up to your Suburban, and you are right about the extra weight probably posing an issue; but we haven't seen a kit installed on a Suburban, so I can't say for sure. I would imagine something simple like a helper air bag in the back would solve the weight issue.

I already have my burb lowered to a 4-6 drop will your sway bar work with what I have and help with body roll, some install pics would be nice if you have some?

Our sway bars will work great with a 4/6 drop (that's what comes in our TVS kit).

You can see installed pictures of the blade-style rear bar here, the conventional bar on page 16 here, and the front bar on page 8 here.

A front and rear sway bar combo will drastically improve how your Burb drives and handles.
