89 c30 upper control arm steel bushing worn?
hello guys i have had a death wobble in my truck its only at 35-40. i have checked out every suspension steering component and all seem to have very minimal play except for the driver upper control arm front bushing. i know there a steel type bushing. do the wear? or is the movement from the control arm hole somehow being elongated?

Just replace the 24 year old worn out rubber bushings with new rubber bushings and you will be fine for another 24 years. And as far as i know no one makes a steal "bushing" for the upper control arm. And if they did, you wouldn't want it.

I just noticed this post was about an 89. If it isn't the 73-87 body style (like an 89 crew cab...), I'm wrong.

Heavy trucks used steel bushings rather than rubber ones. It's the same type of bushing that all trucks used prior to 73. They are much heavier duty and GM continued to use them for many years in severe service applications.

It's an r3500 so yes it's a crew cab... I ordered new shafts upper and lowers with bushings I just didn't think they would wear out when I looked at them
