body color wheels?
I'm getting ready to order a new set of steelies so I can have that stock look and was wondering if in 67 there was an option for body color wheels or if they were all one color? the truck is a 67 c10 a blueish green with white cab and bumpers. Also I'm going with 15 x 10 in the back and will 4.5in backspacing work with the stock rear axle in place?https://sphotos-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/h..._6225736_n.jpg

Re: body color wheels?
I don't know if there was an option but I doubt it. I bought a new '67 SWB stepside in bright red but I think I remember the wheels being white. I do know I got tired of red pretty soon and painted the truck yellow with chrome wheels.
My current '67 has aluminum wheels. My '54 will be painted a very light blue and I bought a quart of a darker blue for the wheels and dashboard/interior trim. But then I also think about chrome for the '54. At some point it will be too expensive to change my mind. |

What are you doing with the old wheels? I'd like them for my '54. |

Re: body color wheels?
the reason I even questioned them being body color is that the spare wheel is painted to match the body color. I was planning to paint them white and still may I was just wondering. I know they are to wide and won't look completely right but I at least want a vauge resemblance to stock

Re: body color wheels?
This topic has been debated many times, but I'm not sure any of us really know. I've been told that that the following rule applies: trucks with a single color had black wheels, whereas two-tone trucks had body color. The only thing I know for sure is that my truck came from the factory with black wheels, which were 5.5" wide and had an approximate backspacing of 3.75".

Re: body color wheels?
with ralley wheels it is impossible to have a stock look cause these trucks never had ralley wheels of and type shape or size

Re: body color wheels?
I don't know if this is correct, but I really like the way it looks on this '67.

Re: body color wheels?
thanks for the replies with the spare being body color I would have to say that the wheels that it left the factory with were most likely body color. Now if I can just figure out the backspacing for the 10 in wheel, and with all the threads on this forum I should be able to figure this out
