2 questions relating to 65 Chevy truck. Ps bracket & blinker or lack of

Where is a good place to buy a power steering conversion kit for a 65 chevy truck with a 04 350 vortec.im going to buy the power steering pump at my local parts store(Oreillys) I just need the bracket and all the hoses and bolts.I seen one made by a member on one of these forums that was like 58 dollars for the bracket.

My next question is about blinkers or turn signals as some call the.My 65 has a late 70s-80s chevy steering column but doesnt have the level for blinkers on it.So unless the blinkers switch is located somewhere else on the truck im S.O.L. I haven't really looked anywhere else nor do I begin to know where to start looking for them or trying to figure out how to fix them.I'm on a mad dash to get this truck running so I can take it to a big rolling 2 day hotrod/muscle car/ratrod/you name it car show September the 16th in pigeon forge TN.

For the turn signals, if you don't want to fix the switch that is in the existing column, you could get an external switch like this one from speedway motors. I know other suppliers like LMC truck have them also.

Captain Fabs (forum member)bracket will get your steering box mounted in about an hour with a drill and welder, I used it with great success. My guess on the signal issue is the lever is broke off, cant think of GM column without signal switch from 70s or 80s, remove steering wheel and replace switch lever, I would go to local wreckers and get hoses and switch lever from V8 pick up. Just my thoughts, Good luck!

Not to hijack but how do you wire the rear lights with that universal kit?

Im seen that blinker switch before on some other 60-66 I have owned.I remember looking bat it and thinking so this is how they done blinkers back then.it was mounted to the steering column with a metal strap. little did I know that these trucks never had blinkers from factory.ill try to fine some pics of that truck to post them up. it was a two tone gun metal blue and silver fleet side with a 327. that truck would do burnouts like no othrr

Anti-Ricer....these trucks did have blinkers from the factory. The were built into the columns. The bolt on column blinker was designed for trucks that were made prior w/o blinkers or for those who broke the blinkers and did not fix them with the proper parts.

I'm not 100% sure on that. I do know that 60-66 had them in both chevy & GMC. I have a buddy who is big into the 48-59 models. I will ask him.

Quick search online shows left/right harness back to late 55 when the model changed.

i think in 55-59 they were an extra. i had a 58 chevy custom cab f/s and it had no turn signals. installed one like in the pic. this was back in 64/65. later i had a 57 and it had turn signals.

I think they were technically an option until '63 or something?

So I need one of these for the 78 power steering box to mount to my 65? I haven't pulled it from the 78 yet but it looked like a direct bolt on. I may be wrong about that, but please explain what this bracket does?

It spaces it out, and also reinforces the frame so you don't tear it up. If you look at the 78 frame, you'll notice it has raised mounting points where the box bolts to it. (Also the 78 PS box will have an additional fourth mounting bolt.)

Turn signal were still an accessory / option in 1960 or so I`ve seen kits for.

The adapter plate not only locates all 4 holes for you, with the supplied template, but it also spaces the box outward to compensate for the lack of an indent on the '67 and earlier frames.
