WTB - 68-72 short fleet bed

I know.. so does everybody else.

I have tried before without a lot of luck, if you have it know of one in better than average shape please let me know. I will travel for the right bed, I prefer a wood floor.

Price, pics.. anything out there? If not I'm going to Kentucky and get a new one from Mark. (SoKy) I'll see what happens for the next couple weeks but just thought I'd give it one last shot . The beds from Woodall are supposed to be thicker, heavier and straighter than OEM but the whole bed is $2150 ..and I still have the travel.

Please let me know. Thanks
Chad

Good luck with the search buddy, at least you can go pick up a bed from Soky. I have to pay freight charges to have mine shipped to NJ

Re: WTB - 68-72 short fleet bed

I have a new Woodall floor and just measured the thickness of it. It is about the same as the OEM floor. It does fit perfect and it is very well built. It was part of a deal with 2 perfect OEM bedsides,OEM headboard,OEM wheel houses and splash guards that i got from a forum member. Had been looking for about two months and found this sweet one..

Hmm...anxious to what you think of the SOKY bed (aftermarket). Is that complete bed (floor headboard tailgate tubs and sides?)

Re: WTB - 68-72 short fleet bed

All of it, lettered tailgate and wood floor setup. 2144 and some change after tax picked up. I have some strips already and I will be making my own bed wood.

Re: WTB - 68-72 short fleet bed

Morning bump -

I'm sure the Woodall beds are fine but honestly with other things going on in my life at the moment I just don't have $2k+ in my truck fund right now. I'm going to try again on the 'one piece at a time' approach.

If you have anything for a SWB Fleet wood floor that is reasonably nice please let me know. Cross sills, front panel, inner tubs, bed sides, a nice tail gate, etc. I need pretty much everything. West coast stuff preferred.

I DO have some money, just not $2k+ For those who dont know I just dropped $21k+ in medical bills. My extra play money is almost tapped out for a couple months. It may cost me a little more to do it this way I know but there's just something about clean OEM metal.

Re: WTB - 68-72 short fleet bed

Chad, I agree with the o.e. sheetmetal thing completely. I admit that I am using aftermarket bedsides, but I absolutely will be using o.e. pieces everywhere else. Hence the slow go on my truck.

On another note... Good luck on the primary endeavor with the spouse!!!
