My first C10

Hey guys I am brand new to the forum and this new truck of mine has me real excited. It was great to find out how many people share the same passion in these vehicles. I just got the truck a few days ago so I am not sure what direction I want to go in but for now I love driving it around.

Truck has a 400 small block with a cam, edelbrock intake and carb. Freshly rebuilt 700r4 tranny with b&m shift kit and last but not least 12 bolt posi with 4.11 gears.

I have always been interested in classic cars and trucks but have never taken the initiative to work on them myself. It will be a learning experience and I look forward to any help that I may receive here.

Welcome to the forum! Very cool truck you have there. You'll find an obscene amount of info available on this forum, pictures to drool over, and member's brains to pick.

Re: My first C10

Thanks. Yeh I had been doing my share of drooling the last couple of days on here before I posted its pretty amazing. I have been contemplating a cheap way to put a bed in my truck rather than using these expensive wood kits. Took me like 4 hours today just to locate an ignition spacer for this truck since none of the reproduction places make them for that one year for some reason. Its worth it though I am loving it.

Re: My first C10

Looks to be a 1967 you have there.....very nice man very nice. I have a 1972 stepside but I gotta say, I prefer the sweep of the hood of the 67's and 68's.

Glad to have you here man.

Yep 67 small window. I definitely love the look of the late 60's and have always wanted a stepside as well.

Re: My first C10

I try and post in the parts forum but for some reason I am not allowed, I assume because I am new. Been trying to install my ignition and I need the ignition spacer and bezel specific for the 1967. The person I bought it from gave me a spacer and bezel but its for the 68-72.

From what I have read on the forums they aren't reproduced any help is appreciated, thanks.

Welcome!

If you paste the "IMG" code from your photobucket, it shows the pics right on the thread.

Re: My first C10

Ah so have to pay for membership ok. Thanks slow-1 I was curious how people were able to do that.

Well as always with anything I dive in head first and picked up another truck today, well kind of. It is a 1985 El Camino that has a tuned port injection in it as well as a performance computer and chip, hedman headers, and flowmaster exhaust. Should be a pretty fun daily driver while I fix up the 67.

Re: My first C10

Yeh that seems to be where its heading. The el camino is gonna need work but it will be easy to get it driver ready take me less than a day. That way i can put the 67 in a garage or something to work on it on the side.

Years back I used to live in Orlando didn't really care for it there. The more I hear from people on this site the happier I am that I purchased this truck. If you go to any shows in south florida or know of anything good going on let me know. I will also be in central florida at the end of the month, will probably take the wife's el camino but would love to go to a car show out there or maybe check out your trucks.
