My 75 Scottsdale

I just bought this 75 from an old man down the road from my parents. The old man's dad bought it brand new in the summer of 75. They are selling the family farm so he has no use for the truck anymore. Engine has never been rebuilt but he said the transmission was rebuilt back in 1990. Ac compressor is bad but pretty much everything else works. Ive always loved this truck ever since I was a kid. I think it was the color that always has caught my eye. Ive only seen one other truck this color in person. Plans are to keep it original and fix the things that are wrong with it. I am going to take the steps off though.

I don't think I've ever seen that color before, very seventies for sure. Good buy and better plan to keep it original! I like it

Thumbs up Re: My 75 Scottsdale

Good looking truck cool find. Nice color combo are the running boards stock? Don't see any rust that's probably the coolest thing.

There is one just like this at the local dealer in Canton, TX. It's a 3/4 ton, and has a $6995 price tag on it. Even though it's in great shape, I think it's over priced. I took some pictures of it a while back, I'll see if I can find them. That is a great find though!

My wife told me I spent too much time on Facebook. So I bought an old truck. Now she wishes I was on Facebook, it was cheaper.

Re: My 75 Scottsdale

I've seen that truck in canton. I stopped and looked at it. It's a Gmc, very nice truck but over priced in my opinion. I posted a pic of it in the long bed pics section awhile back. I got this truck for $1000. That truck in canton is the only other truck I've seen in person with that color.

I'm not sure if the running boards are stock and yes the truck has minimal rust.

I have one this color and it gets compliments everywhere I go! You will enjoy the combination. This is not a real good picture, but right after I finished the repaint. It only has 54000 miles and also belonged to an older man.

Re: My 75 Scottsdale

Yes ive seen your truck on here before. Thats an awesome truck. Did you have to get a new dash and dye it? or was yours already in really good shape? Mine is split pretty bad. I havent seen any other trucks here on the forum that color besides yours and mine.

I have restored several of these trucks and the cost of a new dash is ridiculous. The dash in this truck is a skin from LMC that is died to match. If you take it out and glue and clamp it, then die it it works as good as new. I died the door panels and dash to match. The seat was recovered in the closest thing I could find. Green vinyl is hard to find. Your truck is nice I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine.

Re: My 75 Scottsdale

There was a nearly spotless Blazer here in Phoenix that color. I drove by it at least every week. Then one day it was gone. I saw it on Craigslist rattlecanned black with all of the mouldings removed. It made me sick! It was SUCH a clean Blazer and just a unique color combination.

Some people don't appreciate originality. I have to have something old around to remind me of when times were better!
