i tackled my center caps with some aluminum foil and soapy water, works pretty good.

it removes rust from chrome, as long as its not too bad, stuff like the seat belt buckles. lots of stuff

Can you describe the process a little for this dumb a$$ Canadian? Did you use the aluminum foil to wash the caps with? Is it that simple?

i sprayed them off real good and came to the kitchen sink with the a/c. i used dishwashing liquid this time but it didnt make any difference from other things ive scrubbed with it so i wont use it again. tear off a piece of about 6 inches plus how ever wide your foil is, crumble it up and dip it in water, rub, dip, rub, dip etc. the more the foil gets pressed together the better it does. took about 15 or so minutes per cap. i guess it would depend on how oxidised they are, mine were pretty bad.
