Champion Spring Ft. Worth

If anyone is in the DFW area and needing spring service or bushing replacement Champion Spring is the place. Great bunch of guys and very inexpensive. They did my work while I waited, in and out in an hour....

Re: Champion Spring Ft. Worth

The whole process was pretty neat. Hung out and talked to the spring guy and definitely learned a few new tricks. He swapped out all four leaf spring bushings in maybe 20 minutes, by hand.... He made the whole process look simple.

Re: Champion Spring Ft. Worth

It's been a few years since I had them do leaf spring bushings. At the time (about 2000 or so), it was 7.50 per bushing, parts and labor.

What does it cost nowadays ?

I got all new slider pads, new longer u-clips on the front half of the spring and hardware, 8 holes punched for slider pads, new center pins and all 4 bushings replaced. Tax and all was a couple dollars over $100

Re: Champion Spring Ft. Worth

That's very fair.

I guess I'm lucky being pretty much local to a good shop like Champion. I see fellows on here often spending 400 dollars or more on a set of new leaf springs. It's been my experience you can take a pair of beat down leafs to a good spring shop and get them good as new like you did, include having them raised or lowered to suit your desired ride height for way, way, way less than new leafs.

Re: Champion Spring Ft. Worth

You can take your current leafs in and tell them to lower than by "x" amount and they'll fix you up in short order.
