Tailgate band instalation...
How do I install one on a tailgate that has never had one? I have a tailgate band that isn't perfect, but I'd like one and this will be fine for now. The tailgate that came with the bed I bought has no provisions for a band. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Tailgate band instalation...
It bolts on, I think it's just a matter of getting some measurements of where to drill holes.

Re: Tailgate band instalation...
The tailgate I have now never had one so this is what I did. I had a 1/4 inch piece of plywood and I traced the band onto it. I cut the traced band out of the plywood and measured where the screws go into the back of the band and drilled holes out in my plywood in these locations. Then take your plywood band and put it on your tailgate. I had mine off the truck and on some saw horses. Line the plywood band up where u want it and punch your holes and drill them through the tailgate. Get some stainless screws that will fit into the back of the original band of appropriate length. Now if u measured everything correct line your orginal band up on the gate and put the screws through the back side and it should be all done.

You could use posterboard or cardboard, I just had the 1/4 inch plywood.
