Dually owners step inside

This question applies particularly flatbeds, but anyway

I've been using my dually a bit, which is a factory stake-side deck:

I drive on gravel roads off and on, and I'm getting pretty tired of the rocks pinging off the back of the cab.

Has anybody installed a half fender, like they use on semis? Something like this:

Hoping to see some pictures. Not sure if it will ruin the vintage look I've got at the moment, but it would sure be nice.

I have never added anything like that on any of my dually's, but I know exactly what you are dealing with. I think it would work well though.

If you find a good source, let me know! Mine are both cracking at the mounting points.

Re: Dually owners step inside

You can get a full half circle fender from the big rig on line accy dealers.

There is also a place that will do a qty 1, your logo or lettering, flap.

I was thinking ranch brand or Bob Hayes Chevrolet Dallas.

Re: Dually owners step inside

I wanted to mount a couple of under-deck boxes to carry "stuff", which as a side effect protected the cab. The down side was the boxes took whatever was being thrown off the tires. I haven't done it yet, but my plans are to find some scrap roofing membrane, (EPDM) and cover just the tire side of the box with that. The boxes are black, the EPDM is black, and I'm thinking it won't be very noticeable. It will go between the bracket and the box. I may have to touch up the brackets once in a while, but that's minor compared to road rash on the cab or box sides.

Yes,I've seen 1t flatbeds with these 1/4 fenders. In fact,I've seen trucks72's. I think it's a good look. I do like the frame box idea Slomo went with. How about spray on Dupli-Color bedliner?
