Upper control arm
I am looking to replace a stock upper control arm for a 77 c10 and was wondering who makes the best product? I have already checked Moog but they do not carry that year.

Re: Upper control arm
Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a specific brand that you recommend?

Re: Upper control arm
I would buy the least expensive since I would bet they all have cheap ball joints anyway. Upper ball joints last a long time though.

Re: Upper control arm
What's wrong with the arm you have now ? The reason I ask is that you can rebuild it as cheap as buying a new arm and have much better parts on an original GM arm instead of an offshore part.

Re: Upper control arm
I bought the front cross member to install onto my 62 c10 from a junk yard and it was not until I had the upper control arm powder coated and the bushings pressed in that I realized that the control arm was bent where the bushing is, on the right side of the arm. I do not know if I bought it that way or if it go bent somewhere in the proses.

Re: Upper control arm
Bend it back ? I've straightened out a few of them over the years. The uppers are easy, lowers much harder to straighten.

Re: Upper control arm
if your original is not fixable, I would try and find a nice used OEM arm from someone on the parts board and rebuild that. I have bought replacement arms in the past b/c of rust but the they are not nearly as thick as the originals, and I doubt they will hold up as well.
Moog ball joints are the only way to go, in my opinion -Sam
