Can anyone I.D. this

Doing some research on future projects and came across this pic of a 61 suburban and I have no idea what the set up in front of the heater assembly is? The two jars is what im referring to. Looks to be wired if I'm looking at it correct. I know chevy had an optional washer bottle that looked similar, but that's not wiper fluid and I'm just stumped as to what the set up is for. Im not sure if its a members truck or not.

It's a v6 gmc if you look close.... My guess is it one of those quirky hydrogen generators that uses water and electricity to give you like 80 mpg.... Inject Sarcasm

I think you're right, a friend back in 1973 tried that on his Ford camper special.

Re: Can anyone I.D. this

Re: Can anyone I.D. this

My Pop used to buy things like that in the back of Mechanics Illustrated one I remember was called Vapo-mile it put water vapor in the intake to get more mpg. The one my Dad had looked like it used some Tupperware parts and plastic tubing w/a brass nipple it was a little different than the one pictured but the same idea..Vernski

Re: Can anyone I.D. this

It's not a 348/409. You can tell by the intake manifold. 348/409 did not sit up like that.

Re: Can anyone I.D. this

It uses vacuum and injects water into the fuel mixture under heavy load to better vaporize the fuel, it would make it so you could pull a hill in 3rd instead of 2nd....
def. a gmc v6
