Bummer. When I was in Seattle I once saw a guy walking down the street looking into cars. They make a list and break into them at night. He did'nt even care that I saw him. Its like the cops won't do anything and people are paranoid isolationists and if you shoot at me you're the one going to prison, not me, so we get away with it. At least in Texas you can defend your property with deadly force and get no-billed from the grand jury.

LAst time I had a stereo installed I vowed it wouldn't happen again. The next stereo had my own little security system attached to the stereo..... RAZOR BLADES!

That's right, on the back side of the stereo attach your favorite razor blades, I used epoxy. Ab out 9 months after I installed it I discovered blood on my floormats...items were moved inside the car but the Punk was too concerned with his wounds to worry about stealing my stuff.

Plus it leaves behind DNA if you really want to go after them!

next time the dogs in "YOUR" yard, put him in "YOUR" garage. Next morning ,take him for "A RIDE" down to your local "animal control shelter",drop him off!!Just tell them you found him "Wandering" on the freeway, and you didnt want him to get hit by another vehicle,so you brought him to the shelter, hoping the owner would check there for him!{oh by the way, if he has a "dogtag",or any type of identification on him, make sure it "accidently" falls off before you take him to the shelter}=making it vertually impossible for them to notify the owner,,,,,,,, /NO MORE DOG CRAP/

if you have spoken to the dog owner about the problem and he/she won't do anything about it, you can do as my uncle did. don't say anything more to the owner, go buy a 2 1/2 gallon plastic bucket with a good sealing lid, keep collecting the dog's "gifts" until the bucket is about 1/2 full, then pay the neighbor a little visit. when he/she opens the door, throw the well ripened "gifts"across their floor of their house, and say "this belongs to you, i've been saving it for you". the dog never crapped on my uncle's lawn again.

Thumbs down jef5150

my uncle never served a minute of jail time nor were any police involved, and this happened here in calif.
it's NOT the dogs fault, it's the dumba$$ owner. what you suggested he do is more illegal than my idea.

CD rip offs

All my rigs have cassette players or nothing! I've never been broken into unless I left a bag or back pack or clothing in the car!!!!!!!!!if its portable and desireable then your a good target.........also all my rigs are manual transmissions and i have not had a stolen car or truck since i've taken this tack........guess this younger generation won't bother with trying to figure out how to drive with a 'heal and toe'

Hey good idea, I have been trying to think of ways to "secure" mine. Maybe after that warranty expires(void if removed stickers, grrr hate those) on it you can take it apart and glue some out of the vent holes to make it less noticable.

Angry

Sorry to hear about that man!

I had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago, out of my car though. Stole CD player, 20 some CD's, amp (which I had JUST burnt up - and was going to replace, but got a laugh outta that one) 1 out of 2 speakers in the front (only one??? - don't know why) and bent my back seat all to hell, trying to get at my subs/amp/crossover/etc in the trunk. (never got through though) First thing I did, besides scream four letter words at 5:00am, was phone the cops. I suspected the neighbors across the street, as it was some kind of half-way house for teens, and they pretty much seemed to do as they please, at all hours of the day/night. Also had a helping hand in me MOVING OUT of the neighborhood.

They didn't give a rat's ass, as stated above. They offered to dust the car for finger prints - but what I wanted was immunity from prosecution after I gave the neighbors an intimate look of the car's tire iron, (across the head) the car's trunk (to transport) and the city's beautiful lake (to dispose)!!!!

I wish your friend all the best in getting something done about his situation.

EDIT: Oh yes, and I am NOW a firm believer of not blasting the stereo in your own neighborhood! Wait a few blocks, and then give 'er. That was one of the reasons for what happened to me above - the punks sat outside and seen me coming and going.

I think the best thing to do with that dog poo would be to set it on the neightbor's steps early in the morning in the spot most likely to be stepped on. I bet they won't enjoy shoepoo when they are in a hurry to get to work.

is there a way to hook up a stock radio AND a cd player, so the radio and time are on the stock but the cd's play out of the cd player (which would be hidden of course)?
