Headlight bucket mod

I bought some new 7" headlamps that use the H4 bulb's, come to find out that the bucket opening will need to be opened up about 1/4 inch in all directions to make them fit,

If i decide to go back to sealed beam say if a rock takes out one of them out and i'm in a pinch, will the sealed beam still sit tightly in the bucket? or will the mod make a sealed beam not fight tight?

Debating if i should just buy a second pare and modify those instead. Thanks!

yes, stock sealed beam will still fit. It's the rim that actually holds the bulb tight. The only reason to open the hole in the bucket is so the boot has room. Go for it with no worries.

Re: Headlight bucket mod

Just dont get greedy and cut too much off. If you cut too much you lose the nubs on the bucket that allow you to aim the headlight. Then you will have to buy another set of buckets to make them work.

Yep, ask me how I know not to cut to much...
