Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe. School me. I'm confused
I'm looking to buy a used Suburban. Either half-ton or 3/4. And I'd prefer years with 5.3 and 6.0's. I want 8 or 9 passenger. But, when I look at ads it looks like some Yukons have two row seating and some three? I'm confused. And, doesn't GMC also call their's Suburban too? I assume all Tahoes are 2 row seating?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm getting confused here At first I thought I should just be looking for Suburbans 2000 up.

Re: Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe. School me. I'm confused
I had an o4 Tahoe with 3rd row seating(8 passenger, 7 comfortably). I think with the Tahoes you have to look individually. The third row was actually a two piece deal, you could take out one or both sides. I don't know about the Yukons having a 3rd row, but the GMC version of a Suburban is a Yukon XL. You should stay above 2000 for the 5.3/6.0.
Man...I never really thought it was confusing until I started trying to explain it.

tahoe yukon suburban and yukon xl all have the same availability of seating.
its gonna be 7 or 8 with the 3rd row 2nd row will either be a bench or 2 buckets 3 row is a bench i think the front seats only came in buckets no bench. my suburban has front 2 buckets 2nd row 2 buckets 3 bench it fits 7 200lbs+ grown men very nicely... i officiate high school football and we car pool to the far away games as a crew.

Denali and Escalade have the LQ9 (higher compression 6.0L). Only a small number of 2wd Tahoes came with the 4.8L, and you can usually spot them because they will have fewer options, cloth, no 3rd row seat, etc.
Having owned both the Suburban and Tahoe, I'd go for the Suburban if space is what you're after. They are very affordable right now.

Re: Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe. School me. I'm confused
Tahoe and Yukon are the same thing. Suburban and Yukon XL are the same thing. Third row seating is an option for Tahoe's and Yukon's, seems like most do have it. Tahoes with third row seats have very little cargo space.
