Vacuum Pump

I have a 1987 Chevy Van 30 with a diesel engine. I have trouble with the cruise control and the shift feels soft. Does anyone know how many pounds of vacuum the vacuum pump should have?

Thanks,
Ted

Re: Vacuum Pump

I tested the vacuum pump and it showed 25. I had all the electrical components tested, all checked out good. I replaced the transducer (the part that actually pulls the throttle). Now the cruise control works good. I went to the auto wreckers and spent a grand total of $20, which included the transducer & a windshield visor.

Thanks again,
Ted
