help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

Ok, my lowering kit shows this week.I took measurements of tire to fender for clearance.

Something isnt right...
My rear tire on the passenger side has almost no room of clearance from the inside of the fenderwell in the bed of the truck.

The driver side has more clearance, you can easily see the difference visually
Drivers side has at least 1.5" of clearance to the inner fender of the truck bed.

Ill try and take some pictures right now.

Anyone have ideas??

You need an adjustable trac bar to re center the rear end

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

I have the complete ece 4.5/6 drop kit coming this week
My truck is 1969 so I also ordered their 5 lug front disc conversion and matching 5 lug axles to go in the stock rear end. Does the 4.5/6 kit come with the correct track bar I need?

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

All the stock stuff is in place in these pictures
Parts havent shown yet.

Hmmm starting to wonder if the 20x8 with 4.5" backspacing are gonna work or not.
I know the 245/45/20s have the same overall section width as the current tires pictured which is 9.5"
(Steel wheels with 9.5/16.5)

Your ECE kit will come with their super track bar. With it, you can adjust the offset to center the axle under the truck.

By the way, good choice on the drop kit. You won't be sorry. Early Classic delivers quality.

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

So many happy customers on here running the 4.5/6 I felt it was the smart way to go.
I was set on 5 spoke (torque thrust style wheels) so I figure their 5 lug disc brake conversion and 5 lug axles will be quality too, dumped the extra on a power booster.should be money well spent im hoping.
Truck is also getting switched to a 700r4 so it should be a solid daily driver once she gets on the road finally.

Most all vehicles are off center. The adjustable bar should allow you to "adjust it".

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

Appreciate the info, I had no clue it was so common that they are off centered.

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

Also these current tires in the pictures have a decent bulge to them, I think they are on a 7" wide rim, and have an overall section width of 9.50 so they kinda balloon out.

245/45/20 have a 9.5 section width ,are the tire size I was gonna run all the way around .
.found a set of 20x8 rims with 4.5" back spacing

.wouldnt the rims balloon less since its an 8" width rim with 9.5" section width, so essentially only 3/4" sticking past the rim on each side??

Haha I apologize for so many questions but im trying to make sure the 20x8 with 245/45/20 are gonna work, but im thinkin they should if what I mentioned above is right

Re: help..one tire is closer to the inner bed fender

Talked to stan at ECE , sounds like my rear wheels will be an inch more inboard than the front on each side in the rear once I install their 5 lug disc in front and new 5 lug axles.

So ill have an inch on each side to add to get them exactly the same
