Any tricks to putting fuel hose on?

Are there any special tricks to slipping rubber fuel hose onto metal fuel lines?

This step is coming up in about 3 weeks when it's time to put the tank back in and hook up the fuel system.

No tricks.

Make sure the rubber hose is for fuel and it is the same size as the steel line you are putting it on and use quality clamps. I would suggest the steel line has at least one barb on it to prevent the hose from slipping of. You can do this with a flaring tool. You can rent a flaring tool from many different parts stores.

To make a barb, just follow the instructions as if you were making a double flare on the steel line. Once you do the first step, you have a barb.

also if you are having a hard time getting it to slip on use some wd-40 or some watered down joy dish liquid in a spray bottle

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I am actually keeping the original hard line, just replacing the hoses. I did use compressed air to blow out all hard lines (fuel, vent, and vacuum). I am replacing the original spring-type of connectors with the screw down type.

Thanks for the advice guys! That job is coming up week after next (assuming success on cab-to-frame bushing replacement).
