Question what size cam?

I'll be rebuilding my 402BB and boring it 30 over and putting a 750cfm edelbrock perfomer carb and intake manifiold on it. What type and size of cam should I put into my engine? I'd like to to keep the dependability in the engine and be able to drive it cross country if I want, but have a nice sound and increase the HP.I don't want to get too big of cam and have over heating and other problems and have to change other equipment. Should I match the carb, intake, cam, lifters with edelbrock parts and put an edelbrock cam and lifters in it or is there a better cam and lifters to use? Thanks everyone for all your help.

18 years ago the Cam timing gear went, I only had money for the top end so I put a Crane HMV-272 econo-power cam in along with a TRW double roller chain set. I just had the 402 rebuilt and the Cam had no wear on it so it went back into the engine. The Econo-power are not made any more but the PowerMax H-272-2 is the replacement. With this cam, 4.11 gears, 27" tires, th400, and a light to moderate foot I get about 12mpg. I started up an 8% grade with 4200lb of stone in the truck and it went like it was empty I had to slow down at the top of the hill because of the curve at the top and the down hill after but it has a nice lope and my RPM's at 55mph are about 2850rpm. at 60 about 3000rpm. the rest of the top end did not need changed springs rockers and you can keep hydraulic lifters.
