6 inch drop
Tried to do a search but my computer started tripping. Do I need to do a c-notch on the rear of my 70 c-10 if I do a 6 inch drop? Or can I get away without it? Thanks for any help.

If memory serves correctly, that is the critical point to which some guys will say yes, but others will say no. If you're not towing or using the bed for any kind of load, then you should be fine. Keep in mind that every truck is different. You might be hitting the bump stops a lot if your roads are as bad as Houston roads.

I don't think Dallas roads are much better. But I don't haul anything except my kids now and then. I'll just put them in and take it from there.

I don't know. Honestly I hadn't heard of it before now. It would be worth checking out though. I'll see if I can make it, but not sure at this point.

When I did my 6 inch drop I did the notch but I also have a sway bar that mounts to the top of the axle. I had do. I also found my new springs are soft so you will need to check that. Seems like some are softer than others requiring more clearance.
I would say yes to be safe but try it...

No notch needed then just trim your rear bump stops, you should be ok.
