Wanting to add a tach dash in my truck...found one in a 77 but my truck is an 84....will it work? If not what years do I need to be looking in?

Re: Tach questions

Yes it should but it won't look... "Right" 81-87 has different fonts if you look closely so it'll be odd. But i'm ocd. Just pull the wiring and rock on!

Re: Tach questions

Do you have a pic of the difference? I'm OCD also....but usually only mess with 67-72 trucks so I don't know much about these....it has a 454 also will that affect it?

WHAT!?!? WHOA! WAIT! What is that out of and where can i get one? I did the fuel gauge in the tach and the trip meter function.

info please!

I have been considering autometer gauges but having a hard time figuring out what gauges i want in the holes as there are only 6 holes and i want 7 different gauges.

Re: Tach questions

They comee out of the big truck like the c 60 n c70 series because in the bottomleft where the fuel gauge was they had the air pressure guage so they moved the gas one to inside the tach, kinda like some camaro's if i remember right. Only way to get one is used pretty sure. Trip odometer is just option specific.

You will need to get a cluster out of an 88-90 R/V truck to get the trip odometer (if you are using a speedo cable), or a 90-91 R/V to get an electric speedo. The tach with the fuel gauge can be found at GM sport salvage.

Re: Tach questions

Only reason I didn't go factory, is cause then it looks like you got two speedometers in there. Autometer pro comp series bears a strong resemblance to factory, so I went with that instead.
