Help Oil leak from Hell

so i cant find this oil leak and i took some pictures of it to show the Pros here it is any help would be awesome

Valve covers, intake, oil pressure gauge line/fitting, distributor gasket. Oil leaks from all these areas and it is very difficult to see it until it puddles somewhere. I use a flashlight and a small mirror to look for damp spots. Could also be from the hole on the front boss that it used to hold the fuel pump rod when changing the fuel pump, it dribbles out of there at speed and sprays the lower passenger side of the engine.

Clean the engine real good, then wait and see where the leak is coming from.

i would show you a puddle but i put a drip pan under it now had to many of them on the driveway lol i checked the valve covers , intake ,oil pressure line , distributor .. didnt start leaking till two weeks ago never leaked before.

i did yesterday and i cant find it .. i pulled off the starter and cleaned it washed everything down real good and the same thing it ends up in the same 3 spots that i put the picture of

rear main? how many miles on the engine?

I'd first check for a plugged PCV valve... wasn't leaking then suddenly starts-- that's my guess..

its one of those damm GM 350 crate motors lol .. so as far as mile on the motor i really have no clue

Rear main, Tranny front seal, back of intake at corners, dizzy gasket, Valve covers or pressure gauge. Those are my spots to check first.

Try cleaning it down with parts wash or brake kleen. Then add UV dye to the oil. Generally ten minutes of running will get a leak source under UV light. But you need good dye, goggles and a good light. The cheap filtered LED lights are about useless.

If you have cleaned and checked and cleaned and checked..... Then the UV die is the only solution to find the leak.

Not sure if the GM crate engines have the bolt holes on the front of the block near the fuel pump. The top hole can leak oil. Put a short bolt in it with some thread sealer.

A great method that I use often is clean it real good, let it cool, then spray the suspect areas in athletes foot spray. Goes on chalk white and really soaks up oil so you have a great contrasting way to see where it's coming from. Just a trick from an old salty tech at work I picked up on.

I would also check around the oil dipstick. I had too much pressure and had to vent other valve cover. The oil pressure was making dipstick move up and leak.

A couple of weird things that could cause a leak are: rear cam plug installed wrong ( or missing ) or block cracked from installing the oil galley plugs with air. I hope neither one is the case. Roy

I used this method to track down an elusive leak from my oil dipstick tube. It works great.

if its a newer crate engine , the one thing most do not come with is an intake , so check the rear intake seal between the heads , hard to see but easy to wipr with your fingers , rear mains a notorious for leaking if a motor sits for years and is put back into service , the motor will not leak for awhile after being returned to running but after a few miles , usaly less than 100 , and a few heat and cool cycles , it starts pouring out , chevys are bad for this problem

When they leak from the top this is where it shows up first.
