Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

I have been looking at the Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers here lately. My truck is my secondary vehicle so I don't mind it being too loud. I use to have 40 series mufflers on my '66 chevy and the drone was horrible for a daily driver.

Any feedback you have on the Flowmaster Super 10s would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for wasting my time for that incredible useless post! Don't you run a thumpr cam? Now can we get an answer from someone that is actually trying to help?

If your not going to help then please do not reply! I don't care about anyone's negative opinion or lifestyle. Thanks!

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

Yes I have flowmaster 10 series on mine with long tube headers, it's pretty crazy loud! I won't even lie to you. Until the muffler gets broken in I found the drone was bad around 30-40mph after that it just sounds really aggressive. I personally love it, some people not so much I can wake up my neighborhood from a cold start.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

I've had them. Wasn't impressed to say the least. Better info for you? My cam has nothing to do with anything here other than it does the job I want it too.

My suggestion. If you want loud run straight pipe or a quality muffler that doesn't sound like poop. Saves money sounds better.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

Sounds good to me! I'm running open headers right now which is WAY too loud! I don't like the sound of glass packs and I can't run straight pipes so I think the Flowmaster 10s are what I'm looking for. I usually don't cruise much at 30-40 mph so they may work out just right for me.

thanks for the feedback!

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

I will say this though what I found to help break them in over time of course cause of mine being a project I wouldn't drive it all time. Sometimes when I would go cruise in it for a little bit I would just go pedal to the metal seemed like it helped out. Let me see if I can get the video for you I have one of it when I first had them installed and from a cold start then I have a recent when it was actually warmed up. Let me get home I have them on my youtube account and I'll post them here for you.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

I had flowmaster 10's for the first year i had my truck. It sounded badass and everyone loved it. 2" pipe from headers back wasn't that loud honestly. Only thing was the rusted out in a year :/ since you're i texas i highly doubt rust will be a problem.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

Try looking at spintech. They have different sized mufflers which give a good crisp sound and won't drone which you can spoil the fun of hearing the engine.
I've had glass packs before. Dyno max bullets were the loudest and purple hormones louder than cherry bombs. I moved to flows super 40s which were to quiet and sounded the same as everyone else's at car shows. About as quiet as the bombs but droned way worse. Which I think the thin sheet metal construction had something to do with it. Then did tens which were relatiy cheap but droned all the time in my cab and yes they were loud about the same as the bullets but less at idle.
The spintechs I always get complements and questions about now locally. They sound different! This is why you hear me suggest them so much.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

a 10 series is just a single chamber muffler. i used to have a camaro with a built 383 long tubes and SLP Loudmouth exhaust so i was trying to get that same sound with my truck. I am going with a long tube and 3in pipes into a set of single chamber mufflers from ebay and saving A LOT of money. i would recommend that. i just wish i had the motor to back up the sound..... but that will be in the future post up videos when you get it done

I have em on my truck. Very aggressive. Especially when you hammer it. Can be heard blocks away.

Re: Is Anyone running Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers?

damn thats what i was afraid of, my truck has flipped springs and lowered front and im afraid if i run 3in pipes under my transcrossmember i might not have an exhaust for long haha. trying to find out what everyone has done with it. I really dont want to screw with it, its an easy job but thats the only reason my truck doesnt have long tubes and pipes on it because of pure laziness lol

I might just do it, my 74's transmission cross member has the double hump, so i think it will fit perfect underneath

It's a lot of overkill. Exhaust velocity helps carry sound too. You can do ovalized tube. 2x4 which is pretty big still but gives room.
