78 hood hinges

Well I finally tacoed my first hood,was wondering if the aftermarket hinges and springs any good or ?. The search isn,t working so I couldn,t find any other threads.

Imo just keep the gm hinges and keep em lubed. Had a truck get stiff once wd40 and better than new. Also I like to push In as much as pull down on these hoods helps prevent taco. Just don't bolt those silly stiffeners on your hood you'll end up beheaded.

Use your factory hinges, and use electrosis to clean out the rust

I have had 2 out of 3 after market hinges that did't line up very good. I just recieved a right hand GM hinge from Classic Ind. The right side was a lot cheaper than the left. After taking the after market hinge off 3 times and grinding out the holes and the hood was still to high. I wanted the real thing. It works great.
