Hi all,

Been checkin out this site for a couple days and Im ready to jump in. I just recently bought a 71swb fleet side and thought I was good to go. Seems that the suspension isn't all it was supposed to be. Long story short need to do it right. My question to you all is that I would like to upgrade the suspension I have with a lowered set up. I like em low but don't want it to lay frame still very streetable everyday driving. What is the best set up for this truck and who has it. I have been checkin out early classics, brothers, and cpp. Also would like to throw some TT2's on it and need to no the right size rimz and tires to go with. I can say I saw "This Old Truck" on early classics site and I would like to go with the set up on that truck that is what im after for sure.

Oh p.s. im sure I will have plenty more postings with questions you have all heard a million times but im new at these trucks and will appreciate any help.

Here is the only pic I can send until I figure out how to make the other onez smaller. Any suggestions? This truck is For Sale for $7500 If it doesn't sell before I do the suspension, wheels and tires.

If you want to know how to resize pics you can go to the FAQ's and see a post there about it. I read it and it helped me - you just go into paint and go to image and the skew/angle or something like that and then check the attributes under image and make sure that the numbers you read are under 640 X whatever- hope that helps.

Try running a search on the gas tank topic.There have been thousands of discussions about it.There are several ways to go and the right one depends on you.
Also pony up the $$$ for subscriptions to Classic Trucks and Custom/Classic Trucks.Classic Trucks has a good story on this in the latest issue.
BTW it looks like you have a 2.5/4 drop or so.How was it done and what problems do you have with it?

hey 1970blazin can you send me the link to that if you get a chance. PanelDeland as for the lowering job no drop spindles first of all and probably heated rear springs and cut fronts but not sure. Rear has air shocks which are toast so it rides a little rough in the back. The front is ok but if im gonna do it im doing it right all the way around.

I was refering to the gas door . I t is a short bed right?? never seen one with the saddle tank set-up ...that's all. I was not bagging on your ride so please dont take it that way.

It is a short bed and it does have saddle tanks too. I think you were baggin a little bit. That's ok, understandable? I have never seen a short bed with a saddle tank set up before either. Till now.

i wonder if your truck was a long bed before and cut down to a short bed,
because of the saddle tanks??
i say the drop you have now is ok. if you plan on adding 20's you won't want to drop to low without having bags, unless you plan on having rubber band tires...
about the image question. you can go
to this link for a freeware software. i have used it for a while now and is very easy to use. it'll let you do multiple things to an image.
