Trying to buy this stepside

I was out of town Saturday and did some scouting for some vehicles. Accidentally stumbled upon this. I talked to the owner of the lot but he was VERY old and the trucks were someone else's. I made sure he had my business card and will follow up in a week or two. It is all original the best I can tell. We were on the back side of the fence so I couldn't walk around it but I am guessing it is a 75-76 due the emblems and the steering wheel it has. It is a cheapie truck but it has original paint and is unmolested.

Re: Trying to buy this stepside

Are those drilled-in snaps for a tonneau cover?

Looks like this could be a nice patina/survivor truck. Would you go with stock wheels and hubcaps and maybe a small drop?

They are drilled snaps for a tonneau. I hope it works out. Looks pretty decent

Great patina truck but I won't be keeping it if I get it. GMCs are all I am into and this is a Chevy

That's a neat find. I think it's a '78-'80. The dash pad insert appears robe black centered and silver around the edge. It also looks like the full sized door panels that came out in '77 but the black trim dash insert came out in '78. Nice either way. Probably a pretty neat little truck.

I hadn't looked that close. When did they change to the newer style steering wheel? 1978? If that is the case it is probably a 78.
