Who has old-style steel rallys on a 99-06 2wd
The search function won't work for me tonight and I looked through some of the 99-06 pics and found one but it's a 4x4.
I'm talking about the 70s and 80s style 6-lug 4x4 wheels that are 15x8s. |

Re: Who has old-style steel rallys on a 99-06 2wd
I am anxious to see if anyone comes up with some pics too, Cris. I posted a while ago on this same topic and have yet to see anything from anyone. I am seeking anyone who has been able to mount these 15" rally's on the 99-up trucks. I would love to replace my stock aluminum 16" rims with the old school 6-bolt deep dish rally's on my 2000 2wd - something different, yet a classic look that would be rather affordable compared to other wheel options. Anyone?

Here is the 4x4 that I found pics of.
He used later model center caps on them. I kinda like the old caps myself. All 4 rear caps without the hole in them. |

It's not possible at all on 05-up trucks. The front brakes are too large and require a minimum 17" wheel. The99-4 trucks can run these if you have rear drums. They will actually fit the front wheels fine, but the rear disc brake caliper requires 16" wheels.

Thanks 68Stepbed.
The truck I'm looking at is a 2002. What year did they start putting rear discs on them? |

Rear disc brakes were an option. My 2000 GMC has them. My 2003 Tahoe has them.

Re: Who has old-style steel rallys on a 99-06 2wd
I have rear disc's on my 2000 as well. I looked at the front set up and it looked like a 15" rim would be very tight over the calipers and tie rod ends but now I hear it's the rear that would be the issue. I have heard one can "grind" the calipers to get the wheels to fit. Probably not a recommended practice but I understand it's doable...

If you like/want that style wheel....look into the aftermarket, & go 16" on the wheel? My 02 has discs front/rear, & I have to agree, there is not enough room for a 15"' wheel Longhorn
