Front Disc Swap and Front Drop Before and After

My son and I have nearly completed the front end swap on his 68 GMC. We have swapped in a complete front end from a 87 R-10 and for some reason it had the F44 spindles on it. We also cut one coil from the springs in the front.

Aye Aye. I never cared much for the GMC front end until I saw that photo.

We bought it with all intention of switching it out to a chevy front, but the GMC front end is growing on us. Plans are to cut it down to a SWB as of now but that could change also. My son is 14 will be 15 in Oct. When we were letting it down from the lift the fender kept getting closer and closer to the tire when it stopped he say o man that looks good. All I can say is one proud papa.

I have the same wheel and tire combo for the rear. For some reason my wife thinks I should go to work during the day instead of working on the truck go figure, anyhow I have the rear from the same donor truck all cleaned up read to go in as soon as I can get to the shop and change it out.

My truck is a Chevy converted to GMC. I bet you dont see that done very often? I love the 4 eyes and all the chrome. Everyone has a Chevy. Way less GMC's.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I've got a Chevy and plan on swapping out the front end sheet metal for the look of a '68 GMC, just like etindoll's.

Re: Front Disc Swap and Front Drop Before and After

For now we are done with the suspension I had intentions of installing a set of 2" lowering shackles in the rear, but they hit the bottom of the bed I could only find a set that fits a 73-87 not sure if that matters or not. I did get the trim rings and center caps put on also.

Passenger side front fender and door I just realized I have only posted driver side photos, but there is very little that we will have to do other that sanding sanding and sanding.
