250 4 barrel linkage

I am just finishing up the T5 swap in my 66 c10 and want to move on to freshening up the engine. My plan is to reseal, paint and detail. But while I am in there I would like to do a few mods. I want to use split manifolds, an offy intake, carb upgrade, ignition, and possibly a mild cam. So my question is what carb is the easiest to make most of the stock throttle linkage work? I am thinking the holley 390 running parallel with the engine? I dont really want to start using aftermarket throttle cables etc if I do not have to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Any carb will work if you use a bell crank. Offy intakes mount the carb sideways. Clifford intakes mount them parralel.
I had an Offy with a holley 350 and used the stock rod linkage and a bellcrank.

Thank you, is there Any advantage with the Clifford intake instead of the offy?

Only other difference is in the ability to add heat to the intake. The Offy uses a bolt on plate and the Clifford has a heat chamber built in to it.
If you live in a cool climate that might be something to look at.

Langdon's cast iron headers are great or the Clifford short tube headers are good also. Landon header run $277 and Clifford short tube headers run $340. Langdon's header are cast iron not tubular. The clifford intake you have the choice of running the carb sideways or parallel cause its open plenum and the offey you don't have that choice. I have been hearing some problems about the offey intake n here just for yer info. I would run a Davis Unified Ignition for optimum performance( It kicks out 50,000 volts and it advanced the same as the original gm hei). Delta cams can make you a great mild cam. Tell them your specks and you can get a great cam for as low as $45! Hope this helped. T.J.

Ok thanks I will probably use a Clifford intake and Langdon headers. So the stock linkage should be useable with Clifford intake and 390 holley? Thanks guys

The original linkage should have a rod that runs to the bell crank. If you extened the rod to the middle hole on the carb you should be able to hook it right up. Vernski( One of the member here) did this. You could have him send you pictures of what he did, and that would help you quite a bit. I went with a lokar pedal and cable setup and had it all installed in an hour.
