GM Tonawanda Engine Plant car show
The GM Engine Plant in Tonawanda, NY celebrated it's 75th anniversary on August 23rd & 24th. On Friday, 8/23 they held an open house with free tours of the engine plant. On Saturday, 8/24 they held the UAW/GM-All American Car Show and Expo. It was a beautiful day for the car show. There were a lot of awesome cars and trucks. I was honored to find out that I took 1st place for the best 4X4 truck. Here is a link to some of the show pictures:

You noticed that huh? That thing is a beast! When they fired it up, it rattled everyone's windows.

GM also awarded $400 million to build the new V8 engine to be used in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette and the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Pickup Trucks in Tonawanda. In May, a Corvette engine made in Tonawanda powered the pace car for the Indy 500.
