LS3 crate motor accessories
for my upcoming k5 blazer build i will be using a brand new LS3 crate motor and crate 6l80e tranny
the brakes will be updated with 4 wheel disc and hyrdo-boost it will also have a power assisted rack and pinion steering besides the obvious of going to my local parts store and purchasing new a/c compressor, alternator,,ps/pb pump, pulleys or to the bone yard to "find the needed parts... oh yeah... after about 1 year i want to put in the "gm"(same as camero) supercharger so that needs to be thought of as well. is the a vendor that would have a kit of some kind? i don't want chrome or anything fancy... i want it to look as "stock" as possible... almost like chevy brought back a k5 blazer and put a modern drive train in it.

Re: LS3 crate motor accessories
Your best bet would be to buy the GMPP blower kit, it will come with all of the accy's.
I would NOT recommend putting much boost on a stock LS3 bottom end...it's already 10.7:1. |

You spelled Camaro with an E.
I'm just gonna let evolution sort this one out for me.

Re: LS3 crate motor accessories
IDK, look up the specs and do your own research.
You will learn more by reading and researching on your own vs. being told what to do. |

Re: LS3 crate motor accessories
gmpp has the LSA as a drop in motor as an e-rod... that would solve my supercharger issues =)
http://www.chevroletperformance.com/...systems/#ls3_k http://www.chevroletperformance.com/...systems/#lsa_k they dont sell the 6l80e trans with these drop-ins. anyone know where to source the 6l80e trans and controller?

Re: LS3 crate motor accessories
Why not just buy a complete dropout? They're all over Ebay. Motor, trans, wiring - everything you'll need.

Re: LS3 crate motor accessories
I've bought probably 1/2 dozen LS motors out of wrecks. Never had any issues with any of them.
Chances are if they're coming out of a wrecked car/truck, it was running without issue when it was wrecked. Most yards do offer warranties on their stuff. |
