'72 sway bar and shocks?

My 72 here has a static drop, maybe a 2/4? I don't think it's drop spindles, probably just cut coils/blocks on the trailing arms. Not trying to go any lower, just get things straightened out for now.

So my questions are; there's no brackets where the sway bar connects to the lower a-arm. Can I just round up the brackets and replace all the sway bar bushings? Anything I need to do differently because of the drop?

Also, can I just run stock shocks, or do I need shorter ones? Recommendations for a daily driver?

Re: '72 sway bar and shocks?

You can buy the brackets new at GM still and then get a pair of new bushings from the parts store or you can even buy aftermarket bushings with included straps all in one package.

No lower than your truck is, stock shocks should be fine.

Re: '72 sway bar and shocks?

Thanks for the info! You think a local parts house would have urethane bushings, or would I need to get those online?

Re: '72 sway bar and shocks?

I have a pair of the brackets for the control arms sitting in my scrap pile. If you want to cover shipping fees and paypal fees, you can have them. PM me if you want them.

With that said, the urethane bushings are a good way to go, but I think you have to order the entire sway bar kit(energy suspension) to get the brackets too.
