Time For Paint... Solutions Welcome!

Not looking for bashing, if you don't like, that's cool.

Instead of just saying it looks like crap, offer up some form of a constructive solution.

The wheels are mine.
Mine is actually a 72 so not the same grill, but it was the easiest picture to photochop

And yes i took the marker light out of the grill and put them into the bumper

Thanks guys for the input.

Re: Time For Paint... Solutions Welcome!

I like where you're going with it... any thoughts on trying to carry the orange down the bedsides at all? The fact that it stopped abruptly stood out to me...

Google pic, opposite colors though:

Agreed...more orange, bring it down the sides some. And possibly go gloss on the black.

Re: Time For Paint... Solutions Welcome!

I think it works. Bringing the orange down the bed might make it look even longer than it is.

The hood looks awesome.

Agreed on bringing it down the bed rail. Also, inverting the colors maybe. I think it looks better with dark color on top, light color on botom

Do a search on apint and learn about the pitfalls. Then write a contract with your painter to make sure the truck doesn't spend the next 10 years in paint jail.

I like that! Makes the truck look longer and faster. That angled tic in the bed orange is genius.

I like "your" idea, everybody goes down the side. Not sure about the flat.

The fact that it stood out can be a good/bad thing, but that is what I am going for the surprised, "Hey that works" look.

I am hoping the gloss will make it a purposed afterthought that will 'pop'

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw it. It does work. I think you have the lines in the right place and it works without the bed included. my 2cents

Re: Time For Paint... Solutions Welcome!

I like the color combo on the one sterk44 posted.

Curious, have you tried doing a photoshop rendition of the traditional two tone on our trucks, but with black/orange? I can't recall seeing black/orange in the traditional two-tone paint scheme.

What about painting just the top of the bed side orange?

One of the things that I disliked about my truck being black and orange, alot of people refered to it as the "halloween truck"! LOL

My first thought also was to carry the top color down the bedsides as well. EDIT: See how your about 2" above the body line? carry that same 2" down the bed so it kinda arc's.. Just a thought
