99-02 Radio VSS Wire
Hey guys,
I'm installing an aftermarket nav unit in my truck and it asks to be connected to the VSS. Is there not a VSS Wire in the factory radio harness? I thought there was for the radio's volume adjustment. There's a set of wires in one section of the factory harness that the Metra harness doesn't connect to. I'm assuming it's one of those but I can't find any info on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andrew. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 99-02 Radio VSS Wire
If I'm not mistaken this diagram shows a dark green/white wire going to the radio for VSS. Right?

Re: 99-02 Radio VSS Wire
looks close, this diagram shows a dark green/white wire going to the stock radio for VSS signal.
The cruise control and radio are feed on the same wire out of the mid bussed electrical center. So I think if you tap the wire ( Cruise wire out ) and see if your nav unit is going to work. These wires are showing they come from a mid bussed electrical center that is feed from a PCM if there is a non 4.3L and a VCM feed if there is a 4.3L engine and on this side the instrument cluster gets a feed wire. This is just what I see looking at a 2000 GMC SIERRA 1500 5.3 sound system dia.
