pics of 70 blazer/truck interior

I am wondering if anyone has pictures of a stock 1970 blazer or bucket seat pickup interior. Even a picture of a catalog or brochure of when they first came out. I am just wondering what the interior of my blazer looked like when it rolled off the line. Or if anyone knows of a book I could buy that would explain options on the blazers. My sticker in the glove box reads "4784AZ Custom Sport Truck" and "4508AA Dark Blue" how do I decode those options. Any advice appreciated!

I am also interested in this thread as I have a 70 blazer as well. Seems everyone has pics of 71-72 cst interiors but not many 70's. I would appreciate any pics with consoles and rear seat. Any exterior pics with CST trim would be nice as well. Does anyone know if the side moldings continued on the tailgate for 70 with woodgrain. I have seen them in black moldings as well as woodgrain. By the way this board RULES.....

Onpman-
The trim on the tailgate is a wide woodgrain Chevrolet band just like the 70 truck. I have one on my blazer and I have a few pics from stuff I found on the internet, here is one- I can email them to you if you want.
Did you look at this web page- http://www.geocities.com/earlyblazer...ueblazer1.html
This guys blazer is real stock- one of the pictures even has what I have heard called a post cap on the top of the vent window, but they are almost impossible to find. I haven't found anyone that carries them, and my blazer is missing them.

70Blazin, you will have to find the door caps used, they arent reproduced, try asking bigblockburris, he has a blazer he is parting out in the parts forum.

1970 Blazin,

I looked at pics you mentioned, but I think that guys truck is a 71 or 72 judging by the different door panels. I have been trying to find a good example of a 70 CST as the interior trim is a little different and I think the exterior trim differs slightly other than the obvious grille differences. I have the original Chevy brochures but unfortunately it doesn't show the interior that well.

This is the int shot of a 70, (maybe a 69, but there is very little that is not the same)
This rig belongs to OLDCHEV4X4...and it is a sweet little blazer.
A true CST would have vinal door panles with small woodgrain trim inserts in the top.

I don't believe the CST packages differed all that much between the years.
My 71 CST interior package has the scrolled vinyl seats and doors but no woodgrain strip ontop of the door panel.I don't know maybe that may be a differance between the 70 and the 71,72.
The outside trim was either black or had a woodgrain strip in the middle and was painted black on either side of that woodgrain strip.
It seems the rear "CHEVROLET" strip only came with the woodgrain.I've never seen one that was black with the "CHEVROLET" on it.I've seen many with the black side trim and the woodgrain tailgate strip.

Here's my tailgate strip.

The side trim.

the interior. The console is orig. but the cup holder is from a 73+ console.

I think my interior is a combo between the 70+71 model year.

I have a 70 and a 71 CST. The only difference interior wise is the front seats. The 71/72 has the scroll. A 70 has a little different variation. Check LMC seatcovers it shows the difference. The woodgrain at the top of the door panels is supposed to be a 71 thing my 71 doesn't have it either. At the top of the doors next to the top my 70 doesn't have the black drip caps it has some black plugs that fit inbetween the void. The carpet hold down strips are different as well

Bobby K,

Thanks for the pics. I was wondering about the difference between the black molding and the woodgrain. I too have seen black moldings with and without the "Chevrolet" on the tailgate, but the woodgrain molding always had it on the tailgate. Is your truck an early 71? Maybe that explains some 70 interior parts.

here's a pic of a 70 CST. It shows original door panels and woodgrain trim on exterior. No woodgrain on door panels.

Well I'm not sure of the production date but I'm thinking it does have some 70 trim in it.
I did recover the seats with the proper 71 scrolled seat covers and a previous owner had put some grey velour covers on then before.
Other than the option list in the glove box which lists a "black scrolled vinyl bucket" on it I'm not certain what the orig. seats looked like.

Here is a link to a site to check your paint code:
It will decipher to 508
If you check the different years I beleive that 508 is usually dark blue but in 1970 it shows to be metallic dark bluePaintscratch

Have fun

Hutch,

Thanks a million for that link of the 70 blazer. That trucks looks EXACTLY like mine is supposed to look. Mine came with gold vinyl trim which is not produced anymore so sandlewood would be a good match just like that truck. This board is so awesome!

Very interesting. the wood grain comment I made was on the asumption that they were like trucks on that.
The interesting part is the photo special70gmc posted. His has the wood, and no one else's does.
