No Limit Wide Ride install by Smittys

Ok as many of you have seen our Red Race Truck. We have reached the limits of the front suspension. I need more front tire, ground clearance and better geometry.

So we are making the change to the Wide Ride a couple things to point out.

It has great geometry great camber gain and very little bump steer.

It is priced well $2700. I priced a complete rebuild of stock parts for a comparison $1580 just for the parts.

I am sure Rob will chime in here but I took some pics to show it being installed.

Ugly stock stuff just for reference.

New cross member bolted in. We have the engine moved back and down so we had to make new engine mounts.

Notice right above the engine mount is a notch for the steering shaft depending on the rack you use you have to check for clearance.

The alignment is made simple with the camber/caster concentric used to mount the upper arm. This make for quick easy alignment changes.

I chose to run a Flaming River Billet Rack. This is a upgrade that is available.

Re: No Limit Wide Ride install by Smittys

Performance update... we ended up with 315 front tires on it. Off to indy we went after a few shock setting changes a couple calls to Rob we have a pretty good base line setup. This setup kicks a.... the turn in is great and it rotates incredible. We ran a 57.8 which was good enough for 8th out of 18 pro class cars.

I made the engine mounts because the engine is set back a lot. The kit comes with a mount with it.

Re: No Limit Wide Ride install by Smittys

Another question I haven't seen, but are you running the C10 version that utilizes C10 spindles or the 2nd Gen Camaro version?

Re: No Limit Wide Ride install by Smittys

We only make the Wide Ride with one spindle, and that is our Impalla based ZG spindle. We do make our own rotors for those. They are all 12" drilled and slotted with 1/2" screw in studs, and we have any bolt pattern, 4 1/2", 4 3/4", 5" and 5 x 5 1/2". We also make our own billit aluminum hubs for bigger brakes. In these we can offer the 6 x 5 1/2" pattern. They can be built with 13" or 14" rotors, and 4 or 6 piston calipers. Also, any Baer or Wilwood kit that fits a '79-'81 Camaro or '92-'96 Impalla will fit.

They only use one spindle the Impala Spindle that is made for the kit. So its not a drop spindle.
