yeah it seems the beds were from Mexico including the tailgate, although the cabs and other parts seems to have been imported from Canada.

I converted it over its going for $6,020 US dollars. Seems a little steep but they are probably hard to find over there.

Agree it is a little steep but then again it seems to be slightly restored because the paintwork looks too fresh to be original, also note this is a dealer so you can definitely lower them on price, they have heavy markups.

That looks like bobbed long bed with a ? tailgate, it's not a Mexican bed.
This is what the Messican looks like:

Correct, this is a completely different bed than the Mexican trucks. How can we say the price is high in a nation who's economy we know nothing about? I know I have no idea what jobs pay, homes cost,(cow) milk costs, tires, fuel,or anything.

Hey ZUBZ,do you see many of these trucks over there?

Still wished I lived in your part of the country where 6K seems like a lot for a truck like that. Seems like a steal to me, but things are a little different up here in MI.

Hey Special-K, well to be honest there are loads of American vehicles in South Africa, classics I mean, take a look at page 9 of this document (https://www.gmsa.co.za/files/pdf/GMS...k_2012_web.pdf) from General Motors South Africa, GM has been in this part of Africa since 1913 so you can imagine there a loads of classics down here, the problem is around 50% or more are unrestored and rotting away, just yesterday I visited out junkmail classifieds website and search classic Chev's and found vehicles from 1930 upwards but most of them unrestored.

While most of us down here love classic vehicles and parts are not easily available means we need to import almost 80% of parts from USA and the shipping is the killer.

The shipping can cost double the price of the parts which makes it very expensive so most owners either leave the vehicles rusting away or sell them as unfinished projects.

There are several companies specializing in importing parts from USA but their markups are very heavy as well so most of us tend to buy direct and this forum has some great vendors which we support.

Hope this explains.

And to answer the question locally $6000 for a neat truck like this is not bad but because its a dealer I would still negotiate.

Here is another example, not sure if this guy will get his price but this truck seems to be restored well and lots of mods and he wants $17, 500- and I know is USA for this kind of money you getting a sick truck with air suspension and the whole lot....

Dont get wrong guys I would buy this if shipping was cheap. I was a little off on my opinion I guess there are too many varables to make a accurate estimate on it if its a good deal.
