68 GMC SWB rear suspension

I am building a rat rod from a 68 gmc swb stepside. Will be one fun and ugly ride,
Need advice! Doing frame off.
Installing 5.3 vortec and 4L60E Tranny
Want a highway driver.
Installing a rear end from a 91 Suburban. Already installed the front suspension. In the process of locating shock supports on axel housing.

What length of shock and what brand?

How many leaf springs should I have? This truck has 9!!!!

Thanks, I'm having fun,

Re: 68 GMC SWB rear suspension

Is this truck going to be lowered or stock height?
I would think you will have to measure between your shock mounts after they are installed at the correct angles.

Welcome to the board.
