I am going to replace the plugs on my '73 with a Chevy 350. I recently bought the truck so I don't know much about and wanted to see if there is a recommendation on good, better, or best plugs or if it doesn't really matter.

Honestly, I always just buy the AC delco or Champion plugs for my vehicles. I have never had a problem and they usually last quite a while.

I get the ones that are recommend which are the AC Delco and they work fine for me.

I'm assuming I can just run to Autozone or the local auto parts store and get AC Delco plugs.

Yep just tell them what kind of truck you have and what kind motor and they'll pull it up.

My brother had those e3 plugs in his 2004 Trailblazer and they only lasted about 5 months before they crapped out. And to be honest it didn't make a bit of difference over the AC Delco plugs he had in there before.

X2 on AC Delco. I just bought some a couple weeks ago for the 350. It was right at 20 bucks for two, four plug packages.

Champion platinum plugs go on sale periodically with a mail in rebate (they send you a check in the mail when you send in the receipt) so the cost to you is zero. Check around online. I have 4 free sets in the shed which I got in the fall (usually on Black Friday). Most guys don't like Champions for some reason, but to me they are all the same - just more spent on advertising.

Put AC's in it. The gimmicky plugs are just that, gimmicks. If your car doesn't call for platinum plugs, I wouldn't put them in it. Platinum plugs may last 100,000 miles before they start wearing, but that doesn't mean they will last 100,000 miles with out going bad. All that the platinum does is slow down the rate at which the plugs wear out. And when I say "wear out" I mean they wear out. The millions of arcs over the life of a plug actually wear away the center electrode and the ground electrode. Platinum slows this. On a old carb'd 350 any plug will get fouled out, or oil fouled long, long before it wears out. That engine and ignition system was designed with AC Delco plugs being used. Use them.

Copper core transmits more power through the gap than any other. Other ones just last longer but give more resistance. Iridium plugs can go three years in a engine that burns good. I change my coppers every six months.

Plugs are like hotdogs. They all are the same thing just different toppings
Other than flint and steel there's really no other way to light your engine off and it's remained the same tech for hundreds of years.
