Looking For More Info on These Mirrors

I'm looking for more info on these mirrors. Are they the original equipment part for a 1970 C10? Is it possible to take this type of mirror apart and refurbish it to like new condition or would that rubber gasket be impossible to find?

Re: Looking For More Info on These Mirrors

I've looked for aftermarket replacements for this style mirror but all I can find are ones with the two vertical lines (I prefer the diamond patern of the ones I posted in my previous post).

Here's an example of what I've found.

if it has a rubber gasket around the glass , you should be able to have new glass installed, take them to a good glass and mirror shop and talk to them, that is what I would do, your old mirror base is a lot stronger than any after market that I have seen....good luck

Re: Looking For More Info on These Mirrors

Thanks for the info ole dollar. The mirrors that were on my truck when got it are round. I just borrowed those above pics from another thread. I plan to post a "want to buy" thread once I find out if that type of mirror head can be rebuilt.

Re: Looking For More Info on These Mirrors

FYI I have those mirrors and while they look okay they are pretty useless because they vibrate pretty bad.
I have these attached to the mirror and they make things very clear behind you.
