This may be old hat to some but for me i still pack my wheel bearings with grease in the palm of the hand, i ran into this today and thought i'd share....

>>>If you have a vacuum food packer, packing bearings is FUN and CLEAN!
Simply squirt some grease on the top of the bearing cone, and put it in a vacuum bag, pull suction, and as the vacuum sucks the air out, the grease will be sucked into the bearings!
Cool to do, fun to watch, and you don't get coated in grease while hand packing the darn bearings!<<<

Also a great way to leave a couple bearings sealed up and ready to use for trailers or what ever else.

Now if my wife ever finds out i'll really be in the dog house!

THat's a good one!
Kinda like using her hair dryer to soften weather stripping, her little mirror to see into a stupid spot under the dash or stealing the turkey baster to remove a little too much brake fluid from the m/c. I'm guilty! LOL!!

the wife waws really pissed with i put my hood hinges and other internal parts in the dishwasher to clean them up

Never, never ever use her stove to bake your powder coated parts in.
At least I got a stove for the shop but she got a new one for her kitchen.
A 1000 buck mistake!!

At my place that would be a new oven for outside, there is no room in the garage....

i dyed my seatbelts webbing in the washing machine. Was able to rinse it out before getting caught.

I freaked out my housemates, years ago, using the dishwasher to clean motorcycle transmissions. Gotta be careful what you use for cleaner- household stuff will discolor the aluminum. I got some stuff from Zep, specifically for big rotisserie heated parts cleaners. Not cheap, but saved me a lot of work on the second and subsequent transmissions! Currently putting the shop together, and contemplating an old dishwasher, to ass to the other stuff in there. I don't take my wife's cooking equipment- she purloined my A/C thermometer for baking stuff!
