1 ton compatability???
It's been a long, long time since I have posted! I just found a '68 GMC one ton dually... Has low miles, is pretty solid, and comes with its original flatbed. Owner believes it is a 283, but when I did a little research I found that they stopped using them in '67. Possibly a 307?
Anyway, are parts for this '68 dually compatible with say a '68 3/4 ton? I understand suspension would not be compatible... but is there anything else? Any help would be great! This could be a great farm truck/ hay truck. Amstaff |

Re: 1 ton compatability???
You should be able to replace/upgrade everything on that truck with parts up into the late 80s.

Re: 1 ton compatability???
It could be a 307 or possibly a 327. The frame is different and the rear is narrower. I;m sure you now the brakes and suspension is different, but the rest is interchangeable with lighter trucks. The sheet metal and everything within is the same

3500. There was a dual rear wheel conversion option on C20/C12500s as well. Pretty rare, but go have a look see
