I dont have the money for a totally custom dash, but i would like to see some of yalls stereo set ups. Where did you put the cd player. Show me some pictures.

this is my stereo,

its a Panasonic cd/mp3/wma player, the speakers are in the lower part of the doors(they are Pioneer Premier 6" 3 ways)

Here's a USA-1 model digital am/fm. I've also added a 12 disk cd changer under the seat with remote control.

i can't find the pic right now, but i have a pioneer am/fm/cd in my glove box, and a radio delete plate on the original hole. the pioneer came with a remote so i dont have to reach across the cab to press buttons. i pirated two 3.5" and two 6x9 speakers from my olds, the 3.5's are inside the dash and the 6x9's sit on the floor in boxes, kind of hillbilly but sounds good.

I used a dual cone setup in the dash then put 2 KLH 5" speaker boxes under the seat. Sounds "Decent" but not like having subs or anything.

i dont want subs or anything. Just a good unit and maybe a couple more speakers. I am just worried about stuff getting stolen.

Thats one reason I like this setup... I have all the cd's I want (12) and its all hidden in what looks like a stock radio.

I have this photo stored in my archives. I don't know who's truck this is, but it is a nice setup. I think it is a Blazer.

If you still have a un-hacked dash I would say go with the glove box idea.

If the old AM is still in the truck as mine is, it will look like you just have stock radio. No one will think twice to look.

I have a kenwood cd/satellite radio, hidden in the glove box. I have the satellite receiver / 2 sony 8" subs / 35 watt amp under the seat. 2 6X9's in the doors. OH YA also a stock AM radio in the dash. :p I need to find a after market controler for the radio because leaning over to change the stations dose kind of BITE. I have a remote, but you have to drive around with the glove box door open. But for now it is great, if you over look the little things.

looks great! I have an old(non digital) aftermarket turn knob style am/fm radio in it now. The dash has not been cut. I like the glovebox idea but i dont know about the glove box being open all the time or leaning over. hmm

PureChevy, I have an old glove box door that I was trying to sell and no one wanted to buy it. So I have been pondering the thought of cutting out a bowtie in it and putting smoked glass. So the door would be closed and your remote would still work through the glass. But I still have not got around to that yet. To many projects not enough time / $$$ Landon

Get a remote control unit for the radio. there are several manufacturers that make units with remote operation. they are usually for marine applications, but may work for our trucks. When I get to that point I am considering it.

Bouncy,I don,t think blazer set up will work.My CD player says it can,t be on more than a 15 degree angle or it won,t function properly

As far as the blazer radio, my kenwood worked at that angle. I had a center console that I built and the CD's played fine. Unless I was off road, then it would skip here and there.

I can get this in the right thread. Here's my hacked dash, 6x9's in the doors, 1" tweeters under the dash looking up, 2 10" subs behind the seats and the changer and amps under the seats.
