Dropped 86 crew cab c20
Well I'm a couple months late but who cares. Here is my 86 c20 that I bought while I was deployed. I've owned it for about 6 months now. It has a low mile 454/th400 and 3.21 gears so it cruises out real nice. As you can tell from the heading, plans are dropping it. I ordered my parts from POL last week. I have coming 2.5" drop spindle and 2" drop springs. I already have 2" shackles so my intentions are having the 4.5" drop and using the shackles in the rear and removing 3 of the 8 leafs. I do not plan on towing anytime soon and when I do I plan on getting helper bags. I could have ordered 2" drop hangers but the truck rides too still and pulling leafs is a great choice and I recommend it. Just don't go overboard and always have a good set of shocks. Here is a pic of the day I drove it home from my dads house. It ran perfect thanks to a brand new edelbrock carb he installed right before I came home.

Re: Dropped 86 crew cab c20
This was over a month ago, I took off the snug top and put a set of 18" wheels and all terrain tires on. The primer job on the truck was flaking so I sanded the whole thing down. It was suppose to go to paint but the guy told me a price and said "get all the primer off and ill paint it for "X" amount" so I sanded FOREVER then went back and he said "I don't know why I told you that, Its gonna cost atleast "X" amount" The price difference was $1000 difference. So I said HELL NAW!!!!!!! I plan on getting it all back in primer and painting it at a later date. I plan on changing the weatherstripping and some interior pieces anyway I have to wait a month atleast to get in the shop for primer so I sprayed a light coat of rustoleum to keep it for making surface rust.

Re: Dropped 86 crew cab c20
This is now. I bought a cowl hood and roll pan from streetnshow.I live 90 miles away and drove the c20 there and back without a problem. I love it. I also ordered a phantom grill, but also found this original grill that is pretty mint. I don't know which one to use. I also bought these 22" tires for cheap so I'm in search of some nice 22s. So I'm waiting on the drop and phantom grill to show up. I'll probably put the drop on and then buy wheels.

Re: Dropped 86 crew cab c20
Parts should be in this week but it may be another week after that before I do it. I have a lot going on right now. I did install the phantom grill but its dark. I don't like the looks of it in the dark so ill wait till morning and take a pic. This is going to be a slow project and wont be finished until spring...and finished I mean dropped on 22s and in primer and all body work complete along with some things to make under the hood seem more appealing. Ill prolly do finned dress kit, edelbrock intake, and a set of wrapped headers along with a noisy gear drive and a mild cam. It should pick up some good power even though It don't truly need it. It runs flawless now.
Ill post the grill tomorrow!!! |

Re: Dropped 86 crew cab c20
I think the grill looks good. What size drop are you going with?
