Nuts at bottom edge of door for door panel attachment?
I have a 1970. It is missing several nuts that are secured at the bottom of the door to attach the door panel. They are square and are secured in a way that locks them in the square hole? Anyone know where you can get these and how would I attach them?

Local Hardware store/Ace has these as well if you do not want to wait on shipping. Ask for cage nut/capture nuts.

That kicks ass! I lost one when I was taking off my door panels - I had to use an impact driver on the screws....

What works even better and cheaper are those square nylon/plastic license plate fasteners.
You simply push the plastic "nuts" into the square hole. Then you "tap" them with whatever screw you are using to fasten the door panels with. I prefer stainless 1/4-20 oval head with trim washer. Best thing is the plastic nut and metal screws won't rust together ever again. |
