new tilt column

my column locked up so i got a rebuilt tilt from kevsclassics. im finally back on the road. it took a beating from UPS though. so its got a few scratches that arent really noticeable, the neutral safety switch was completly busted, but i didnt have 1 before anyway. And the indicator housing is smashed down on 1 side. Other than that it works like a champ.

Re: new tilt column

what? you put it in with it all beat up? I would have sent it back and made ups pay for it. But it looks nice from the picture anyway

Re: new tilt column

UPS would pay up to I think $100 as a fault to them. I'd go that avenue. If it had insurance on it they'll pay for it to the insured value.

Re: new tilt column

UPS won't pay a dime on that. They will say it was packaged improperly, which it probably was to suffer that damage. The box would have to have been run over by a truck with tire treads to prove it for UPS to accept liability. But since you're OK with it then it's a moot point.

Re: new tilt column

Most people don't realize that ups ships millions of pkgs daily..Any given ups trailer has about 1500 pkgs in them and if you dont package them the right way then chances that a pkg gets damaged is pretty high..99.999% of the time the pkg is damaged before its loaded on the delivery truck..you can insure it for what ever amount but that doesn't mean the person packing it cares..not saying thats what they did but that sucks and iv been down that road also..

Thanks guys for the confidence. I have been shipping columns for about 10 years now. I pack them good and I care more then you are thinking. This is only the second one to get damaged in transit. **** happens.
