Window seals

Ordered and installed new window seals on my 86 Swb. I replaced the main window seal and the vent window. The main window is perfect. But the vent window leaks pretty badly. I ordered the parts from lmc. I had trouble getting the seal to snug up real tight at the very top corner, and that is where it leaks. When I installed it, it acted as if it wasn't the right seal for my vent window. I went ahead and installed it anyway. Can y'all suggest somewhere where I can get a quality vent window seal? Thanks guys!

Re: Window seals

What year is the truck? New vent Windows(gm) from lmc are for the 80's trucks. They work with a little fitting. Which I'm sure you know. Try to readjust one more time?

Re: Window seals

Mine were the same way. They didn't look exactly the same, and were a bit difficult to fit into the vent window frame. I had to use my exacto knife to cut some of the rubber for them to fit. I had to apply a little bit of oil to the seals to get them to sit right in the frame. After that, they seem to seal fairly well. The rubber seals I got were made by Precision, and the PO included them when I got my truck so I can't say where they were purchased.

My wife told me I spent too much time on Facebook. So I bought an old truck. Now she wishes I was on Facebook, it was cheaper.

It sounds like you have the wrong vent seals. Read this thread and let me know if you have any more questions.
