Where should I mount my MTX amp?Should it go on back of cab wall?Can I just fasten directly to steel?

thats where mine is, works fine. you could also put it under the seat or like Mike and Dave (lohrtbt) have thiers, under a custom center console.

I have my amps mounted under the seat.
I would recommend it. The seats in these trucks sit high enough to give them breathing room and shade. I have a non-a/c truck and my amps have never shut off from getting too hot and I run them pretty hard sometimes when its damn hot.

Also mounting them under the seat makes them harder to steal.
If you mount them under the seat and screw them down it is almost impossible to remove them without removing the seat too.
My truck got borken into and all they were able to do was unhook the rca cables. They did however steal my speakers and boxes behind the seat. I plan to bolt those in soon. But I have a few other things to help prevent theft.

If you mount them under the seat and spanning from hump to hump, you will see what I am talking about once you have the seat out. If you mount it that way, they will be floating in a way. It allows air to flow under and over them.

You also do not have to run wires as far and you can run the wires under the carpet and have a little slit in the carpet under the seat for the wires to come out.

If you screw the amps down make sure you seal the little gaps around the threads or water may get in, this is for any holes you drill.

I agree with Phoenix. Mine are under the seat. Amps cost alot protect them. Although if you have room they look really good behind the seat. After all my subs i didnt have room back there.
